The Lodge at St. Edward Park is one of my favorite Seattle area wedding venues! It is truly a “best of both worlds” kind of venue. You get historic charm AND modern style. Comfortable amenities AND a beautiful natural setting. Stunning photography outside AND indoors. In-house catering AND the food is incredible. A convenient location AND an escape from the city. It really does check all of the boxes!
Located inside Saint Edward State Park, the hotel/venue offers both sophistication and refinement while the state park surrounding it provides an enchanting and lush forest backdrop. Originally built in the 1920s the former seminary was restored and converted into a boutique hotel in 2021. Keep reading to learn all about having a Lodge at St. Edward Park Wedding.
At the north end of Lake Washington in Kenmore, The Lodge at St. Edward is about 30 minutes from Seattle and 28 miles from SeaTac. The hotel is surrounded by the lush St. Edward State Park.
This venue really does seem to check all the boxes!

Wedding days go by SO fast! Being able to have your guests stay overnight means more time for celebrating and connecting with the people you love. With 84 guest rooms, it’s the perfect place for a full weekend of celebrations: rehearsal dinners, weddings, after-parties, post-wedding brunches, and more!
I’m a huge fan of the outdoor patio adjacent to the ballroom. It’s the perfect spot for cocktail hour, and the lighting in that spot at that time of day is PERFECT for candid photos of all of those post-ceremony celebratory hugs!
Have I mentioned yet how good the food is? Divine. I also love that it’s an in-house team which makes for smooth logistics and an on-time reception.
Okay, this one is huge! I always say that if you can avoid being in a car on your wedding day, you’re setting yourself up for success. Staying at the venue the night before the wedding means you can wake up and have a relaxing start to your day before having your hair and makeup team come to you. No worrying about traffic or if folks in your wedding party will arrive on time.
Speaking of relaxing, I highly recommend booking a massage before your wedding to treat yourself and calm the nerves.
The Lodge at St. Edward Park is a great option if you can’t imagine getting married without your four-legged best friend by your side!

The Lodge at St. Edward Park offers three ceremony sites to choose from:
A short walk from the lodge is The Grotto – an enchanting and secluded ceremony site tucked away in the lush forest. While it feels like a very intimate space, The Grotto can accommodate up to 120 guests. Because The Grotto is part of the State Park, you will need to get a permit to have your ceremony there. Pricing for use of the Grotto is around $1,000. You can see more info on reservations at the State Park’s Grotto Day-Use webpage.
Another beautiful ceremony site option is the expansive Great Lawn. With the historic lodge as your backdrop and the lush greenery of the surrounding park, a ceremony here feels timeless and elegant. The Great Lawn provides ample space for 120 guests to gather comfortably.
The Lodge’s signature event space, Remington Ballroom can host up to 120 guests. With its restored hearth and sophisticated ambiance, Remington Ballroom is a great indoor ceremony location – either as a first choice or a solid rain backup plan!
Formerly the seminary’s social hall, Remington Ballroom is an elegant space with ample natural light. The ballroom opens up to a beautiful private patio which is perfect for cocktail hour. I love the bistro lights and the fun black-and-white striped sun umbrellas! Adjacent to the ballroom is Tonsorium Bar, a speak-easy-style bar that was originally a barbershop. The bar is available for buy-outs if you’re looking for the perfect after-party spot!
The Daniels Suite makes for a beautiful backdrop as you’re getting ready, and there is a lot of natural light which is great for both photography and hair and makeup application. The 718-square-foot room includes a sitting area, king size bed, soaking tub and shower.
Pricing varies widely depending on several factors like time of year, day of the week, number of guests, etc. For the most up-to-date pricing info, reach out to the venue directly to request a proposal.
The ceremony and venue rental includes:
– ceremony and indoor backup space
– bamboo garden chairs

Your photographer and videographer will need to have permits from the state parks to photograph at St. Edward State Park. The application fee is $100, and the permit is valid for one year (so make sure to ask your photographer if they already have one!). The state park will also need a certificate of insurance from the photographer and videographer that names Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission as additionally insured for $1 million. The team at the venue will help you coordinate this.
Now that you’ve got all of the details on the venue, you’re probably about to start your search for you Seattle wedding photographer. I would LOVE to be considered. The Lodge at St Edward Park is one of my absolute favorite venues to photograph! There are gorgeous photo ops everywhere you turn, and the lighting is beautiful inside and out. Also, the FOOD! 🙂
I’ve photographed several weddings at the venue, and I’m familiar with the area. I know how the state parks photography permitting process works, so I can easily help get that sorted so you don’t need to stress about it at all!
