Before getting to my list of stunning engagement sessions locations near Seattle, let’s talk about how to choose a location that is perfect for YOU:

 

1. Consider your lifestyle and what suits you as a couple. Are there any meaningful locations that might be ideal for your engagement shoot? Where did you meet? What activities do you love doing together? Are you outdoorsy? Are you homebodies? Where is your favorite place to spend time together?
2. Think about your wedding venue. Is it urban or outdoorsy? Consider taking your engagement photos somewhere with a different vibe from your wedding so you get two different looks in your photos.
3. Consider the time of year. If you need to have your engagement session done at a certain time of year, think about how different locations will look. Some favorite locations aren’t accessible in the winter.
4. Will you be bringing your dog? If so, make sure to pick a pet-friendly location.

Discovery Park

Discovery Park has SO many options all packed into a relatively small space. Want open fields? Check. Beach? Check. Woodland? Check! And it’s right in the city! Easy peasy.

 

Pioneer Square

If you want a classic downtown Seattle feel, Pioneer Square is perfect.

 

Seattle Waterfront

Shooting along the waterfront is perfect for getting a mix of city and water views.

 

On the ferry

I love photographing on the ferry! If your wedding venue is a ferry ride away for guests, it’s also a great photo for your Save the Dates!

 

San Juan Islands

Turn your engagement session into a weekend getaway, and head up to the San Juan Islands!

 

Snoqualmie Pass

Snoqualmie Pass is great year-round, and there are so many awesome spots up this way. If you’re looking for a winter themed session, Alplental is perfect!

 

University of Washington

This is an especially great location if you went to school at UW, but even if you didn’t there are so many photo-worthy spots around campus!
