N and W’s wedding at Freestone Inn in Mazama was a delightful blend of New Orleans flair and mountain charm. The couple, both outdoor enthusiasts, chose this venue for its sentimental value and breathtaking scenery. Their celebration embraced the vibrant spirit of New Orleans, resulting in a joyous and lively atmosphere.

Why the Freestone Inn?

The most important thing for N and W was sharing their special day with friends and family. Although they considered eloping, they ultimately decided that having their loved ones present was essential. The wedding was filled with laughter, dancing, and the unmistakable energy of a New Orleans party, all set against the stunning backdrop of Mazama.

Mazama holds a special place in N and W’s hearts. They both have birthdays in late December, just two days apart, and it was in this area that they first got to know each other. From their first kiss to N’s first experience with backcountry skiing, Mazama is filled with cherished memories. This deep connection to the location made Freestone Inn the perfect venue for their wedding.

Bringing New Orleans to the Mountains of Mazama

N and W wanted to bring a dash of their Southern roots into their wedding celebration. Originally from New Orleans and North Carolina, they incorporated New Orleans-style elements into their wedding (like celebrating their vows with a traditional second line parade), creating a lively atmosphere with a live band, great food, and lots of dancing. Their goal was to provide a fantastic experience for their guests, filled with music, fun, and the company of their favorite people. The perfect recipe for a memorable wedding celebration!

N and W emphasized capturing candid moments over traditional posed photos. They were drawn to the ability to portray genuine emotions and real moments in a natural setting. Their wedding photos, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mazama, beautifully encapsulated the joy and excitement of the day. The couple’s history with the area, where they celebrated many firsts together, made these photos even more special.
