When it comes to picking the perfect spot for an engagement session, Lincoln Park in West Seattle always tops my list. It offers so much variety within just a short walk. I find myself coming back here again and again with couples — and for good reason!

First off, Lincoln Park has everything you could want for a dreamy engagement session backdrop: grassy fields, forest trails, and a classic PNW beach. The views are stunning: ferries crossing the water, the Olympic Mountains peeking out in the distance, and if we time it right, the magical, golden sunsets.

One of the things I love most about Lincoln Park is the diversity of photo backdrops in a relatively small area. We can capture romantic shots in the woods, playful moments on the beach, and dramatic portraits with the golden sun sinking over the Sound — all in one session.

A couple tips if you’re planning your session at Lincoln Park:

• Parking can be a bit tricky, especially on sunny weekends. Give yourself extra time to find a spot so you can start your session feeling relaxed and ready.
• Leashed dogs are welcome everywhere except on the beach, so feel free to include your furry family member. Just keep in mind that, if you want photos on the beach, you’ll also need to bring a friend to hang out with your dog while you’re taking photos along the shore.
