Why Saltwater Farm?

These two often spend weekends visiting the San Juan Islands together, and they love being in nature – especially on and near the water. So Saltwater Farm was a natural choice for their San Juan Island wedding!

Saltwater Farm is a stunning eco-friendly wedding venue with beautiful spaces indoors and out. The ceremony site offers gorgeous water and mountain views. The event barn, inn, and accommodations are the perfect blend of modern and rustic.

Making Memories and Spending Time with Loved Ones

When I asked this couple about the atmosphere they wanted to create for their wedding, they briefly mentioned their beautiful pastel color palette and the delicate heirloom fine china they brought from their father’s collection. But what they REALLY focussed on was their people. They wanted the wedding to feel warm, inviting, and loving towards everyone there. They hoped it would be a celebration of the goodness of people and the joy that can come from being together. Their highest priorities for their San Juan Island wedding day was living in the moment, spending time with loved ones, and making memories.

I’ve photographed many weddings at Saltwater Farm, and I absolutely love it there! There are so many great photo opportunities to be had. I especially love the evening light at Saltwater Farm, and I was so thrilled to get some beautiful golden light for sunset photos at this wedding.

These two wanted some posed portraits (that still felt very natural!), but they mostly wanted to capture emotion in the candid moments. This expectation is right in line with how I approach photographing a wedding day, so I was thrilled to get to work with them!
